Recently had a fracture or surgery and need support with your rehabilitation aftercare?

22/05/2025 by altphysio

Our team here at Altrincham Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic can help to support the rehabilitation after fractures and Orthopaedic surgery.

The Physiotherapy team here have worked closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons in post-operative follow up clinics and fracture clinics and can support appropriate rehabilitation in the correct timelines.

Post op rehabilitation requires a gradual progression as bony and soft tissue healing takes place. Your physiotherapist will respect your pain levels while encouraging the appropriate amount of mobilisation in a safe manner. We follow post-operative procedures and protocols as determined by your surgeon to maintain appropriate progression tailored to you

Your physiotherapist will liaise with your consultant to ensure a safe, effective rehabilitation and support your return to daily activities.

We’re experienced in rehab following injuries like rotator cuff tears or Achilles tendon ruptures—whether treated surgically or conservatively.

We can also assist in the recovery process after joint replacements (such as total knee replacements, total hip replacements and reverse shoulder replacements) as well as rehabilitating fractures after surgical fixation in hips, ankles and shoulders.

Your physiotherapist will use graded exercise and hands-on techniques to progress your rehabilitation. Strengthening around the joint is introduced at the right time, helping you return to normal activities and eventually sport.
