Physiotherapy

Rehabilitation, sports injuries and manual therapy

Our physiotherapists are experts in manual therapy, exercise therapy and rehabilitation. We treat all common musculoskeletal injuries, as well as more complex and difficult problems.

Physiotherapy can help with:

  • Back, neck and shoulder pain
  • Sports and soft tissue injuries
  • Postoperative care and rehabilitation
  • Antenatal and postnatal problems
  • Foot, ankle and calf pain
  • Chronic pain problems, e.g. osteoarthritis and inflammatory arthritis
  • Postural and muscle imbalances
  • Core stability

What can I expect at my first appointment?

The first appointment will take 30 minutes. Your physiotherapist will take a detailed history of your pain or condition, conduct a thorough examination, and use this information to draw up and discuss a treatment plan.

You can expect to be given a home exercise programme and lifestyle and posture advice. We’ll also give you an indication of how many follow up appointments you may need to resolve your problem or reach your treatment goals.

If our examination reveals a problem that requires specialist advice or further investigations, we may need to refer you back to your GP or a specialist consultant for these investigations before proceeding with physiotherapy treatment.

What Physiotherapy treatment involves

Your ongoing physiotherapy treatment will likely include manual therapy, an exercise programme and plenty of expert advice. We may also use acupuncture, electrotherapy, and muscle balance exercises as part of your treatment plan.

Physiotherapy FAQs

For tips on managing common injuries, visit our YouTube channel or sign up for our monthly newsletter to receive these direct to your inbox.

Your physiotherapist will discuss this with you at your initial consultation. Every client is different. Some people feel they can manage their own condition after two or three treatments, others need regular sessions to help manage their pain or injury.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and a strappy vest top for treatment on the shoulders, neck or back. Wear shorts if you are having treatment on the low back or lower limbs. For running or sports injuries, we also recommend that you wear the trainers you run in or your sports shoes.

A physiotherapy consultation costs £50. All our physiotherapists are on the HCPC register and registered with all major insurance companies, except Vitality. See our detailed price list.
