The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are underway and to celebrate we thought we would do our own Pilates Decathalon! 10 different exercises to try to work up to 10 repetitions each day.
It is true that elite athletes enjoy immense benefits from cross-training and various forms of grueling workouts. However, many of those athletes are also now turning to Pilates in their pursuit of Olympic glory, helping them take their abilities to a higher level. Including our own Adam Peaty, Dana Vollmer, and Missy Franklin.
We all know though that one of the fantastic things about Pilates is that it can be broken down and built up to be appropriate for everyone at varying levels, not just Olympians. Though they say that there is an Olympic sport for everyone…. So maybe Pilates is the one for us!
We created a video of exercises you can do to have your own Olympic event at home. We recommend starting with a smaller number of repetitions and then you can try to work towards 10 reps as you are able! Who needs Tokyo when you can do it all at home?!
